06 May 2010 -- President James Michel has sent a message of congratulations to Navinchandra Ramgoolam on his re-election as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius.
"Your re-election testifies to the esteem in which you are held by your fellow Mauritians and represents a clear cut mandate to lead your country for another term. It is also demonstrative of the confidence of the people of Mauritius in your leadership and policies," said President.
President Michel said that he looks forward to the continued excellent relations at the bilateral, sub-regional and international levels, confident that they will continue to persevere over the years to come.
Both Seychelles and Mauritius, as small island developing states, aim to support each other on issues of mutual concern including climate change, piracy and responses to the international financial crisis.
The President pledged his full support to that end.
"We wish you strength, wisdom and perseverance as you work for the citizens of Mauritius and I take the opportunity to express best wishes for your continued good health and for the prosperity of Mauritius and Mauritians."
