July 8, 2010 -- The Head of State, President James Michel, is meeting all Seychelles ambassadors today to discuss active economic diplomacy.
The President scheduled his yearly meeting with the ambassadors to coincide with a symposium on maritime security that Seychelles will be hosting next week at the Le Meridien Barbarons and in which all the ambassadors will be taking part.
According to Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Paul Adam piracy will top the agenda.
"This visit, from all our ambassadors, marks the time each year when we come together to reaffirm our collective vision for Seychelles and strategise for the year ahead. This year it has been planned to coincide with an important event that Seychelles is organizing, where we will be discussing maritime security concerns with particular attention to the threat of piracy that we have recently been faced with," Minister Adam said yesterday.
