Diplomatic spouses meet First Lady

July 8, 2010 -- Following the launch of the Diplomatic Spouses Association yesterday evening four of its members met First Lady Natalie Michel at State House earlier in the day.

The ladies discussed proposals for fund-raising activities and projects the association plans to implement to help the Children's Homes Foundation of which Mrs Michel is the chairperson.

The launch of the association took place in the evening at the French Ambassador's residence at La Misere.  Mrs Lydia Forbes, spouse of the British  High Commissioner, headed the delegation to the meeting with the First Lady. Also present were Mrs Madhumita Nag, spouse of the Indian High Commissioner; Brigitte Blanchin-Mignot, spouse of the French ambassador; and Mrs Tatiana Kalinina, spouse of the Russian ambassador.

Mrs Forbes said that among the activities, an international bazaar will be held around Christmas. People of different nationalities will be encouraged to take part, she said.
