President back in Anse Etoile
Fri, 12 November 2010
November 12, 2010 -- President James Michel visited several areas of the Anse Etoile district yesterday, as part of his ongoing exercise to meet with various communities and consult people around the country.
The President was accompanied by the district administrator, Ms Aselma Pilate and the Chief Executive Officer of the Housing Finance Company, Mr Charles Bastienne.
The President received many letters from various families following his first visit to the district in October. Residents asked President Michel to visit them in their homes and address some of the issues they are facing in the community.
"Anse Etoile is a large district that is developing fast, and we need to look into the opportunities for housing development, where land and resources are available," said President Michel following his visit.
During this visit President Michel said that he was able to see many families who are seeking to renovate and rebuild their homes, and also that there are increasing housing demands in the district.
"When I receive such a great response from the residents, I cannot ignore their calls for consultation. These community visits give me an opportunity to see the way that people around the country are living, and to hear, face-to-face, the aspirations and dreams of the people."
Residents also spoke to the President about the need to construct new roads, and making bus services available in some of the areas of Anse Etoile.
