December 15 2010 -- Indonesia's ambassador to Seychelles, Mr Budi Bowoleksono, paid a farewell visit to President James Michel at State House yesterday.
"Even though Indonesia is far away from Seychelles, we share many interests and we have enjoyed cordial and strong relations with Seychelles," the ambassador told the national media after the meeting.
He said he believed there was still room to improve cooperation between the two countries in multilateral forums and in capacity building.
Mr Bowoleksono added that Indonesia is one of the founding nations of the Asian-African conference.
"In terms of trading, there are some Indonesian goods that are available on the Seychelles market and this could be expanded on, although the long distance between the countries poses some difficulties for exporting," he said.
