Advisory To Seychellois Nationals In Bahrain
Mon, 21 March 2011
March 18, 2011 -- In view of the ongoing security situation in Bahrain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to advise all Seychellois nationals currently in Bahrain to exercise caution in their day-to-day activities and advise them that should they face any serious difficulties or need urgent assistance from the Seychelles government they should contact the British Embassy in Bahrain.
Although the main office of the British Embassy is currently closed, the Embassy is currently operating from Movenpick Hotel Bahrain in Manama's Al Muharraq region (143 Road 2403, None Muharraq Town 224, Manama -- close to Al Muharraq Stadium). For enquiries to do with the situation in Bahrain please call 17574151 in Bahrain. For enquiries in Seychelles please call (00248) 722987 or (00248) 722226.
Given the ongoing outbreaks of violence and the uncertain security conditions, we urge all Seychellois to exercise caution and to abide by the imposed curfew and to remain in a safe location, avoiding all restricted areas.
For those wishing to leave Bahrain, as all airports are still open, they are urged to leave on available commercial flights. Further flights may become available if the situation worsens.
The ministry also wishes to advise all other Seychellois nationals to avoid travel to Bahrain until further notice.
For further updated information and advice on safety and travel in the region please check the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office website on www.fco.gov.uk .
