Chinese Vice-Premier Meeting President Today

March 24, 2011 -- His Excellency Mr Wang Qishan, the Vice-Premier of the People's Republic of China, arrived in Seychelles yesterday on an official visit. 

The Chinese Vice-Premier is today meeting President James Michel at State House for talks on bilateral cooperation.

This will be followed by the signing of two agreements by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Jean-Paul Adam, and the Chinese Vice-Minister of Commerce, Mr Fu Ziying.

A press statement released by the two sides described the visit as "further testimony to the special relationship between China and Seychelles and comes during the 35th year since the two countries opened diplomatic relations".
