President Says Will Remain Close To People

May 23, 2011 -- A few hours after the announcement of the polling result, President James A Michel appeared in front of supporters at his Parti Lepep headquarters to thank the people of Seychelles for re-electing him.
The President said in an interview immediately after the result announcement that the people of Seychelles have appreciated the work he has done in the last five years.
"It gives me confidence to continue with the work to transform the country," he added. Â
In return for the confidence the public have given him he gave the guarantee that he will continue, as his priority, to work hard while staying in touch with the people.
"For me what is important for a politician is to work for his people and country," he said.
