President Congratulates The UAE On Landmark Anniversary

President Michel yesterday saluted the "peaceful, caring, prosperous, and forward looking nation" of the United Arab Emirates as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of their founding.
The December 2 national day marks the UAE's formal independence and the eventual unification of the seven emirates in 1971 to form the modern-day country.
In congratulatory messages for the Government and People of the UAE that were sent to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the President commended the groundbreaking accomplishments of the UAE in their pursuit of development rooted in rich history and traditions.
"Your pioneering achievements have gained you the respect and admiration of the international community of nations and have propelled the United Arab Emirates into a steady path of development," said the President.
President Michel also took this opportunity to express the thanks of the People and Government of Seychelles for the "unwavering support and friendship which have made a significant contribution to our development efforts and security requirements".
The President concluded by wishing the people of the UAE continued progress and lasting peace for the years to come.
