Rotary Shares Plans With President Michel

The governor of Rotary International District 9220, Mr Mamed Baboo, yesterday met President James Michel to share plans on new areas of collaboration, future strategies, and activities and actions in Seychelles and the region.

Mr Baboo said after the meeting that they discussed and reviewed Rotary activities in Seychelles and in the region. He described the discussions with President Michel as very positive, cordial and friendly.

"It was also an opportunity to discuss Rotary's strategy for the coming years and explore areas for further collaboration with Seychelles," said Mr Baboo.

He told the national media that the Rotary Club of Victoria will continue to assess, consider and address the needs of the people of the communities.

Rotary International has been present in Seychelles for over 40 years. Mr Baboo pointed out that it has contributed enormously to the social development and wellbeing of the people and the communities through various projects.

Among the Rotary sponsored projects visited by Mr Baboo during his three-day visit in Seychelles were the hospice at North East Point and facilities for the Exceptional Child at Roche Caiman.

He also met members of the Rotary Club of Victoria.

Mr Baboo was accompanied to State House by his wife Jasmine, Rotary Club of Victoria president Nandu Raghvani, and president-elect Roland Rassool.
