President Congratulates Seychellois Executive Secretary Election To Iotc

President James Michel has expressed congratulations to Rondolph Payet upon his election as the Executive Secretary of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) this weekend.

"The Government and people of Seychelles join me in extending to you our warmest congratulations for this prestigious election to high office. We are very proud of your achievement, which recognizes your professionalism and expertise in the fisheries sector, as well as the pivotal role that Seychelles will continue to play the intergovernmental organisations  such as IOTC. With your committed stewardship, countries of the Indian Ocean region will ensure the sustainable development of their blue economy," said the President.
 
The President wished Mr. Payet every success in his new post as well as assuring him full support from the Government of Seychelles.

Mr. Rondolph Payet is working as the Regional Executive Secretary for the World Bank funded South West Indian Ocean Fisheries Project. He was previously the CEO of the Seychelles Fishing Authority as well as Chairman of the IOTC. He is expected to assume the Executive Secretary post in 2013.
