Courtesy Call By President James Mancham

Former President James Mancham paid a courtesy call on President James Michel this morning at State House to brief him about his mission to the United Kingdom, where he was representing the Government and people of Seychelles in the official celebrations of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee held in London.
President Michel thanked President Mancham for the work he is doing to promote Seychelles around the world in important international fora and occasions such as the Diamond Jubilee.
President Mancham also briefed the President on his trip to Osaka as a nominee member for the Wise and Elders Committee whereby he met with Senior members of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). President Mancham also met with Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, the first President of Zambia who is presently the President for the ‘Kenneth Kaunda HIV Aids Foundation’.
Mr. Mancham also spoke to the President about the visit of Prime Minsiter Ramgoolam, and expressed his satisfaction that Mauritius and Seychelles have been able to agree landmark treaties for the Joint Exercise of Sovereign Rights and the Joint Management of the Continental Shelf in the Mascarene Plateau Region.
