Seychelles Expresses Grief After Haiyan Devastates The Philippines

Following the devastation caused by tropical typhoon Haiyan, which has swept through the Philippines, President James Michel has expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and people of Seychelles to the government and people of the Philippines.
President Michel was saddened by the terrible loss of life and the destruction of property. He expressed the hope for the safe return of those still missing, as well as for the recovery of those injured.
Moreover, as two archipelagic nations, the President stated that more than most, we are conscious of the destructive power of nature and must unite as nations of the world to enhance disaster risk preparedness as well as climate change adaption.
In his message, President Michel stated that Seychelles stands in solidarity with the Philippines and is assured that under the guidance of the Filipino government, relief and reconstruction will bring about a swift recovery.
