Mauritius congratulated by Seychelles on 46th National Day celebrations

President James A. Michel, congratulated the people and Government of the Republic of Mauritius, on behalf of the Government and people of Seychelles on the occasion of the 46th Mauritian National Day.
In a message transmitted to His Excellency Rajkeswur Purryag, President of the Republic of Mauritius, President Michel commended Mauritius' accomplishments throughout the years and noted that Seychelles and Mauritius share a unique partnership, rooted in a shared commitment of achieving a prosperous, stable and secure Indian Ocean.
In addition President Michel sought to deepen existing relationships between the countries and is “looking forward to working more closely with Mauritius in ensuring that the Small Island Developing States summit scheduled to take place in Samoa later this year, lives up to our shared expectations and address the many developmental concerns of our island nations.”
President Michel also expressed his satisfaction by the increased development in the field of tourism and trade between the two countries and articulated his hope that the countries continue to work together creating robust business and trade links.
President Michel ended by reiterating his hope that Mauritius and Seychelles continuously work to strengthen the valued and existing longstanding cooperation.
