In the wake of the latest terror attack in Mpeketoni, Republic of Kenya that claimed many innocent lives, President James Michel offered heartfelt condolences on behalf of Government and People of Seychelles to the family and friends of the victims of the tragedy, in a letter addressed to his Excellency President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Michel condemned these acts of violence perpetrated against innocent people in the strongest possible terms referring to them as atrocious acts and offered the friendship and solidarity of the Government of Seychelles in these gravest of moments.

President Michel noted that Seychelles shares Kenya's growing concern of the increased number of terrorist attacks in the region that poses a threat to the efforts that both countries are deploying to promulgate peace, stability and prosperity.

"No stone should therefore be left unturned in bringing those responsible for these acts of hatred and revenge to justice. We commend the government of Kenya for all its determination, resilience in the face of adversity and strength of spirit in fighting terrorism and extremism in all its forms" said president Michel.
