President Michel offers sympathies and pays tribute to King Abdullah and congratulates King Salman on ascension to Saudi throne

In a message of condolence President James Michel paid tribute to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following his demise. He described him as a man of great conviction and ready to take strong positions for the betterment of his people.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles, President Michel expressed deep sympathies and condolences to the Government and People of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as to the Royal family.
President Michel further remarked that King Abdullah was a great leader and complimented his key role in bold reforms, which contributed towards the further development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a separate message President James Michel also conveyed the Government and the people of Seychelles’ best wishes and success to His Highness Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud on his ascension to the throne of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
President Michel expressed that the world mourns the tragic passing of the greatly respected King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, an exceptional individual, he was certain that King Salman “would continue to cultivate King Abdullah’s great legacy and that under your wise and courageous leadership, Saudi Arabia and its people will continue on its path towards even greater development and prosperity.”
President Michel also emphasised the deep rooted partnership and friendship that exists between the two states and looked forward to working closely with King Salman towards reinforcing those bonds for the mutual benefit of both the countries and their peoples.
