Palauan President arrives in Seychelles as guest of honour for National Day Celebrations

President of the Republic of Palau, Mr. Tommy Esang Remengesau, arrived in Seychelles on Sunday afternoon and will be guest of honour at the Seychelles National Day celebrations on the 29th of June, marking 39 years of Seychelles' Independence.
The Palauan President and his delegation were warmly received at the Seychelles International Airport by Seychelles President James Michel, the Designated Minister, Mr Vincent Meriton, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Transport, Joel Morgan, amongst other senior officials. President Remengasau will be in Seychelles until Wednesday 1st July.
Mr Remengesau and his delegation will hold talks with President James Michel and their respective counterparts on Tuesday at State house.
A General Cooperation Agreement will be signed between the two countries. During their official visit, the Palauan President and his delegation will be visiting the UNESCO World heritage Site- Vallée de Mai as well as the the coastal erosion barrier project amongst other activities
Seychelles and Palau are determined to continue making a difference shaping international agenda to encapsulate the specificities of small island developing states. there remains a determination from both sides to mobilise political will for greater action on climate change and to ensure that the common priorities and key deliverables of the SAMOA PATHWAY are translated into impactful and lasting action for all islands.
