Seychelles President commences state visit to India

President James Michel has arrived in New Delhi in the Republic of India to undertake a state visit. This is the third state visit of President Michel to India.

The President is accompanied by Mr. Joel Morgan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Transport; Mr. Jean-Paul Adam, Minister of Finance, Trade, and the Blue Economy; Mr. Waven William, Resident High Commissioner in India; high-ranking officials in the President’s Office and a delegation from the private sector.

During his visit, President Michel will hold talks with the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, as well meeting with the Indian President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.

The President will also address a business meeting of the the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), with the participation of delegates of the Seychelles Investment Board and Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

Mr. Michel will share his reflection on maritime security and the blue economy with members of the Indian Council of world Affairs (ICWA). He will also attend a special tourism promotion event organized by the Seychelles Tourism Board and Air Seychelles.
