Seychelles President Michel receives warm reception in New Delhi

Seychelles President James Michel President was accorded a Guard of Honour at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the presidential palace in New Delhi, this morning, as part of his state visit to India.
He was welcomed warmly by the Indian President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi and the Delhi Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Najeeb Jung, along with several other leaders, officials and cabinet ministers.
"Seychelles and India have vibrant relations. My visit here is to consolidate the excellent relations that already exist between India and Seychelles. We have so much in common, we have same shared values, and we have same cultural affinities. India and Seychelles can work together to achieve greater security for our region," President Michel told the Indian media following the ceremony.
The ceremonial reception was also attended by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport, Mr. Joel Morgan, the Minister for Finance, Trade & the Blue Economy, Mr. Jean-Paul Adam, the President’s Diplomatic Adviser, Ambassador Callixte d’Offay, the Chief Military Adviser to the President, Colonel Clifford Roseline, the Seychelles High Commissioner to India, Mr. Waven William, the Chief Press Secretary in the Office of the President, Ms. Srdjana Janosevic, the Presidential Envoy for Climate Change and the Environment, Dr. Nirmal Jivan Shah, the CEO of the Seychelles Investment Board, Mr. Rupert Simeon, the Chairman of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Marco Francis, as well as distinguished members of the Seychelles business community; Mr. Pravin Darad, Mr. Ramakrishnan Pillay and Mr. Narasimhan Ramani.
Following the ceremonial reception, President Michel proceeded to the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi, where the President laid a wreath in the memory of the great leader.
