President James Michel, who is the Minister for Information, visited the premises of the  National Information Services Agency’s printing press facilities at Bois de Rose this morning.

The President was welcomed by the Chairman of the NISA board, Mr. Rene Morel, the CEO of NISA, Ms. Murline Volcere, the Deputy CEO of NISA, Mr. Gerard Govinden as well as other board members and staff of NISA.

NISA began printing the Seychelles Nation daily newspaper on its own state-of-the-art press facilities in May 2015. The new printing facilities have been operating under the business name ‘NISA Press’.

The President toured the facilities and viewed the equipment, including the four-colour Speedmaster printing machine from Heidelberg, Germany, and a computer-to-plate processor.

President Michel congratulated the management and staff of NISA for the progress and innovation of the new printing plant as well as the affordable services it offers.

“ Your hard work and enthusiasm are exemplary. We will continue to take care of your welfare. The progress of our country, the development and achievements we work for depend on the hard work of workers, such as yourselves. This year I will put emphasis on taking care of the welfare of Seychellois workers, who are working hard for our country...we need to recompense good and hard work. Continue with your good work, with honesty, sincerity, enthusiasm!” said President Michel.

NISA has been making substantial savings in printing costs of the Seychelles Nation newspaper and continues to maintain an affordable price for newspapers for consumers.

NISA spent some 25 million Seychelles Rupees for the procurement of equipment, refurbishment of the building of the printing press, as well as training staff to operate the equipment.
